Engineering Notes

Train on software simulation data and assess policies through independent evaluation

01

Training Environment

Define observations, actions, rewards, termination conditions, and reset logic, and lock simulator and task versions. Isaac Lab supports robotics learning workflows such as reinforcement learning; the accuracy of specific models requires independent validation.

02

Reproducible Training Processes

Save configurations, random seeds, checkpoints, and training logs. Record reward components and task completion to identify policies that exploit reward loopholes without actually completing the task.

03

Evaluation and Transfer

Test success rates, constraint violations, and failure modes under initial states and disturbances not used in training. Rising returns do not establish engineering task acceptance; sim-to-real transfer requires a separate safety and validation plan.
