Engineering Notes

Multi-user collaboration requires clear control authority

01

Roles and Objects

Distinguish observer, operator, reviewer, and administrator roles. Define a single effective controller for each controlled object. A terminal must not automatically gain operating permissions merely by connecting.

02

Synchronization and Takeover

Establish a consistent authoritative state source, command sequence numbers, and timestamps. Verify competing control requests, disconnections, reconnections, and late joins, and define behavior for releasing and transferring control and for emergency stops.

03

Load Testing and Auditing

Test latency distributions and state consistency at the agreed number of concurrent users, recording operators, commands, and feedback. Replay should reconstruct the operation sequence, rather than merely preserve the final view.
